EPISODE 059: What is Love?: Lori Fazzino

EPISODE 059: What is Love?: Lori Fazzino

So I wrote this Facebook post about love and fear and two ladies read it.  By no fault of their own, they read it from a different context than I intended.  They both made comments, which at the time I deemed as incoherent because they were so far out of my frame of reference for the post that I arrogantly tossed them aside.

"We need to have each other's backs and realize that in doing so we're not taking anything away from ourselves."

EPISODE 052: Leaving A-Holiness Behind: Christian Piatt

EPISODE 052: Leaving A-Holiness Behind: Christian Piatt

Author, editor, speaker, musician and spoken word artist Christian Piatt and I sit down to diagnose how big of an asshole I am.

"Let he who admits he's an asshole cast the first stone." - JESUS

Ok, Jesus didn't say that.  But he did understand that change began at the acknowledgment of the problem.  If Christian's are assholes, the only hope of that changing is the admittance of our own ass-holiness...

EPISODE 023: "Fundamental" Atheism: Part 2: Chad Mummert

EPISODE 023: "Fundamental" Atheism: Part 2: Chad Mummert

EPISODE 019: Cheers Queerdo! : Dash López

“I am NEVER, as much as I can control, going to allow any outcome of my life to be determined by fear ever again.”
- Dash López

This is a fascinating episode. No guest has shared more deeply and transparently what the mega-church experience was like at Mars Hill and the Acts 29 Church Network than Dash. Not only was he a valued staff member there, he learned to play the game. His experience with Redemption Group therapy seeking to make him straight left him just as he is, gay, except with religious scars...

EPISODE 007: They're Not All Bad Right?: Nathan Parrish

EPISODE 007: They're Not All Bad Right?: Nathan Parrish

Unlike me, Nate still believes in institutional religion.  His experiences are different, and his desires are different, and he believes there's hope still in the machine.  If you know me, you know I'm at a different place in life...
