Boundaries are a self-healing practice. They allow you to focus on protecting your energy. In reclaiming trust with yourself. And for many people (including myself) they allow a sense of inner peace. A boundary is a clear and concise statement of what you will or will not engage with. To set a boundary the key is to be in a calm and non-emotionally charged state. The best way to deliver a boundary is through OBJECTIVE language. This means, being clear without using descriptive adjectives. You’ll find this to be tough and maybe even a little bit unnatural. That’s ok. Practice. It’s always about practice. Objective language allows you to disarm the other person. If you use emotionally loaded terms, you’ll get a highly charged emotional response. Note: this does not mean that the person will respect your boundary. It just means you’ll give the other person an opportunity to actually connect with what you’ve said. I’ve made boundaries like this in a calm, direct manner and they were ignored. That is ok! This practice is for you. It will give you eye opening insights to the people in your life. How they respond is a clear message. How you respond to that message will connect you with deeper levels of self. It will be uncomfortable, but it will create evolution. I’m curious, what’s your biggest issue with setting boundaries #selfhealers
